👤 About the Role:
As a Senior Support Worker / Deputy Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home. You’ll lead by example, mentor junior staff, and ensure that the home operates in line with OFSTED regulations and the highest standards of care.
You’ll be supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs, promoting a safe, nurturing, and stable environment where they can thrive.
🔑 Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the Manager in overseeing staff and daily operations
Leading shifts and providing supervision, guidance, and support to the team
Ensuring high standards of safeguarding, documentation, and regulatory compliance
Building positive relationships with children and promoting their welfare and independence
Assisting in care planning, risk assessments, and incident management
Acting as a positive role model for both staff and young people
✅ What We’re Looking For:
Previous experience in a senior role within a children’s residential setting
Minimum NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children and Young People (or equivalent) – NVQ Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards it
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Confident leadership skills and the ability to motivate a team
Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving abilities
A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.
